Overview
Salem College was established in 1772. It is a private woman's college located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is the oldest institution for women in the Southern United States and was North Carolina’s first college to offer a master's degree program. Various post-baccalaureate programs and certificate programs are also by the institution, along with bachelor’s and associate’s degrees.
Salem College is home to more than 50 recognized student clubs and organizations. Some of them are Habitat for Humanity International, Student Ambassadors For Female Education (SAFE), Student Government Association and the Salem College Junior Women's Club. It has an active Greek life. Some of the fraternities and sororities are Alpha Epsilon Delta, Alpha Lambda Delta and Alpha Psi Omega, among others.
