Overview

Salem International University, SIU, is a private, for-profit university in Salem, West Virginia that was founded by the Seventh Day Baptist Church as Salem College in 1888. Salem Education, LLC acquired SIU in June 2005. SIU offers a number of undergraduate degrees such as an Associate of Science in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (management, accounting, sports management, and international business), a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. SIU has a beautiful 300 acre campus.

Salem International University is home to numerous clubs and organizations such as Sigma Tau Alpha Sorority, Sigma Tau Gamma National Fraternity, the Racquetball Club, and Gamma Beta Phi National Honors Society.

The university athletic teams, known as the Tigers, participate in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, water polo, volleyball, golf, swimming, and tennis.
