Overview
Salina Area Technical College, a 2-year, public institute situated in Salina, Kansas, is also known as Salina Tech. The institute was established in 1965 on the Shilling Air Force Base. The learning center began operating as the Salina Area Vocational-Technical School under supervision of the Unified School District 30.
Salina Area Technical College offers 1-year and 2-year certificate programs to students in general and technical education. The degree programs offered are in the fields of Automotive technology, Diesel Engine technology; Graphic Design, Commercial Art and Illustration, and Industrial Production Technologies. On completion of the coursework in technical programs, students are awarded technical certificates.
The students of Salina Area Technical College participate in several on-campus activities and events. The school also offers a host of financial assistance programs to eligible students. In addition, various career counseling and employment assistance services are also provided.
