Overview
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music was established in 1917 by Ada Clement and Lillian Hodgehead. The school was initially known as the Ada Clement Piano School, but was given its current name in 1923. The institute offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in areas such piano and organ, voice and opera, and music theory and composition, among others. The school also provides adult education as well as pre-college education.
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music conducts auditions for its prospective students. The school offers financial aid in the form of the Student Professional Development Fund and the Alumni Scholarship Fund. The school publishes an online newsletter as well.
