Overview

San Joaquin Valley College was founded in 1977 by Robert and Shirley Perry. SJVC, as it is popularly known, is a private, for-profit college with multiple campuses in California including those in Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia, Modesto, Rancho Cucamonga and Rancho Cordova. The college also operates an online campus.

SJVC-Bakersfield began in 1982 and has been providing vocational education in business, medical and technical areas. Programs include business administration, emergency services and safety management, surgical technology, clinical and administrative medical assisting, and heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration. The college assists students who require financial aid through various avenues including federal aid programs, scholarships, and subsidized, as well as unsubsidized direct loans.
