Overview

Seattle University is a nonprofit Jesuit Catholic university located in the Seattle, Washington. It was established in 1891 as the School of the Immaculate Conception by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). To this day it operates as a Jesuit institution as it is a member institution of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. U.S. News and World Report ranks Seattle University 6th in its "Best Colleges 2008" category. The university offers more than 40 bachelors degree programs and over 20 graduate degree programs through the following academic units:
