Overview
Shawnee State University, also referred to as SSU, is located in Portsmouth, Ohio. The university was established in 1986 and at present enrolls more than 3,000 students annually. The campus covers over 50 acres. Students of SSU are offered more than 80 bachelor’s and associate degree programs in a range of concentrations including Accounting, Computer Programming and Computer Sciences.
There are a number of students clubs and organizations offered by the university including the Association for Greek Life, Campus Crusade for Christ, the International Forum, the Environmental Club and Cross Walk. The students run a newspaper on campus called The University Chronicle and a Silhouette Literary Magazine through which they express their views and opinions.
