Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania is a public university located in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1870. SU is one of the 14 state universities that make up the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. U.S. News & World Report ranked SU among the top public universities in the Northern U.S. in its book "America's Best Colleges 2009."
