Shorter College, also referred to as Shorter, is located in Rome, Georgia, United States. It was established in 1873 as Cherokee Baptist Female College. It became Shorter Female College in 1877 and became coeducational in the 1950s. The college campus is beautifully nestled in an area of more than 150 acres in Rome. Shorter offers more than 30 degrees and several certificate programs in diverse areas of study. It is divided into the following academic schools:

- School of Science & Mathematics

Shorter has recognized a number of Greek Letter Organizations which are governed by the National Panhellenic Conference and Interfraternity Council. Some of these fraternities and sororities are Epsilon Sigma, Phi Mu, Delta Sigma Phi, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Chi Phi.

Housing and MealsShorter College provides on-campus housing for 669 of its 1,011 (full-time) students (as of 2007). Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 21 meals weekly.
Shorter College AthleticsSchool sports include football (Mid-South Conference), basketball (Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference), baseball (Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference), and track (Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference). Shorter College offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 182 male students received the aid (men were 72% of those receiving aid) and 70 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 28% of students receiving such aid) .
