Overview

Situated in Redding, California, Simpson University was established in 1921 by W. W. Newberry. It is also known as SU. The university was named in honor of Albert Benjamin Simpson, a Presbyterian minister who pioneered the Bible Institute movement.

Simpson University offers students various degrees in management information systems, business administration, Bible Study and theology, education and social science. The three academic divisions of the university are:

  • Division of Humanities
  • Division of Science and Business
  • Division of Theology and Ministry

Simpson University sponsors various student clubs and organizations, including the Association for the Performing Arts, Cheer and Dance Club, the International Student Fellowship, the Association for the Visual Arts, the Student Senate and Alpha Chi. The students also publish a newspaper called “The Slate.”
