Overview

Sinte Gleska University was established in 1970. It is a Native American university founded by the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Wakicunza and is located South Dakota. It was named after Sinte Gleska, who was chief of the Sicangu Lakota Nation. It was the first tribal college to award bachelor’s and master’s degrees. A number of programs are offered in a diverse range of studies, including arts & science, business administration & management, vocational education and the institutes of technology.

SGU has several clubs and organizations based on the varied interests of its students. The institution is home to the radio station known as SGU Radio. There is also a Student Lounge and a Multipurpose Student Center.
