Overview

Sitting Bull College, situated in Fort Yates, North Dakota, was established in 1973 and was originally known as Standing Rock Community College. The college, which was given its present name in 1996, is commonly abbreviated as SBC. SBC offers students programs which lead to associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. Prospective students can choose from a range of courses in areas such as education, business administration, environmental science, Native American studies, criminal justice and information technology.

SBC has a large number of clubs and organizations on campus, including organizations such as the Student Government Association, the American Indian Business Leaders, the Ikce Oyate Culture Club and the Teacher Club. SBC offers students financial aid in the form of institutional scholarships such as the Barden Scholarship, the Crazy Horse Memorial Scholarship and the Heisner-Baker Schoalrship.
