Overview

Smith College is located in Northampton, Massachusetts, United States. This independent, women’s, liberal arts college is the largest member of the Seven Sisters. The college was chartered in the year 1871 and classes started in 1875. Smith College enrolls more than 2,000 students every year. Students can choose from a variety of degrees and certificate programs in subjects such as engineering, film studies, and marine sciences.

Smith College provides students access to a large number of clubs and organizations. Students can become members of societies such as the Ceramics Club, International Students Organization, Glee Club, Student Government Association, and Ice Hockey Club. Students publish a weekly newspaper called the "Sophian" and also operate the WOZQ Radio (91.9 FM) radio station. The athletics department fields teams in basketball, skiing, and swimming and diving.
