Overview

South Arkansas Community College, alternatively referred to as SouthArk, is a public, two-year, community college, in El Dorado, Arkansas. The College was established in 1992 by a merger between the Oil Belt Technical College and the El Dorado branch of the Southern Arkansas University. The Original Oil Belt Technical College is now called the East Campus and the Southern Arkansas University is called the West Campus.

The most popular courses in SouthArk are nutrition, exercise therapy and production trades. Other courses offered include health and natural sciences, liberal arts, business trade and industry and adult education.

Writer’s Ink, Between the Lines and South Arkansas Historical Journal are the three college-sponsored publications.
