South Georgia College, also known as SGC, is a public community college located in Douglas, Georgia, United States. It was established in the year 1906 as the 11th District Agricultural & Mechanical School. The campus is situated on nearly 240 landscaped acres. SGC offers more than 20 majors in associate degrees and over 10 certificate programs.
South Georgia College has a host of active clubs and organization for the overall development of students. Some of these are the Georgia Association of Nursing Students, South Georgia College Democrats, Student Organization for Multicultural Unity, the South Georgia Debate Society, and the Environmental Awareness Club, among others. The college's athletic teams are nicknamed the Tigers. They compete in the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association and participates in sports such as baseball and soccer.
