Overview
South Mountain Community College, also referred to as SMCC, is among the ten colleges in the Maricopa Community College District. The college is located in Phoenix, Arizona and was established in 1978 by the district’s governing board. The college enrolls more than 8,000 students annually. It also offers a wide range of quality degree and certificate programs as well as online courses for its students.
There are various student organizations and clubs that the students participate in including the Athletic Club, the Associate Student Life and Leadership Board, the Christian Club, the Spirit Club and the Young Latinos Associated (YLA). The Horizon students newspaper is a means through which the students express their views and opinions.
