Overview

South Piedmont Community College, also known as South Piedmont or SPCC, is located in North Carolina, United States. It was established in 1999 by the North Carolina General Assembly. The original college building in Polkton, on L.L. Polk Campus, was named in honor of Linn Dunklin Garibaldi, a long-time supporter of the school.

SPCC has an auxiliary center and two campuses that serve the areas of Union and Anson counties in south-central North Carolina. As of the 2007 academic year, the college had more than 10,000 non-credit students. South Piedmont offers associate degrees, transitional programs, college transfer programs, and certifications to students.

SPCC is home to numerous student clubs and organizations. Some of them are the Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA), Advertising and Graphic Design Club (JPEG), Future Educator’s Club, and Health Technologies Clubs.
