Overview

Southern Polytechnic State University, also referred to as Southern Poly or SPSU, is located in Marietta, Georgia. SPSU was established in 1948 and was originally known as the Technical Institute. The campus of the university is spread over more than 230 acres. Students are offered a number of degree and certificate programs in a wide range of subject areas. The university has 5 schools including:

  • Extended University
  • The School of Architecture, Civil engineering Technology and Construction
  • The School of Arts and Sciences
  • The School of Computing and Software Engineering
  • The School of Engineering Technology and Management

SPSU offers its students a variety of student organizations and clubs including the Baptist student Union, Campus Crusade for Christ, Phi alpha Delta, SPSU Band and Sigma Nu. The students operate a radio station on campus called WGHR and also run a newspaper called Southern Technical Institute News Gazette or STING.
