Overview

Southern Union State Community College was established on August 12, 1993, and is situated in east central Alabama. It was formed when Alabama State Board of Education merged Southern Union State Junior College with Opelika State Technical College. The school has branch campuses in:

  • Wadley

Southern Union State Community College has three distinct divisions:

Southern Union State Community College is home to numerous students clubs and organizations including Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Theta Kappa, the National Student Nurses' Association, and the Global Environmental Organization of Students. Their sports teams participate in volleyball, softball, cross country, basketball and baseball.
