Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf is located in Big Spring, Texas. The name of the institute is abbreviated as SWCID and was founded on 6th November, 1979, by the Howard County Junior College District's Board of Trustees. Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf held its first classes in the year 1980. SWCID provides certificates and associate's degrees in diverse areas of study such as computer science, mathematics, anthropology, health information technology, and criminal justice.
