Overview

Southwest Mississippi Community College, also known as SMCC, is situated in Summit, Pike County, Mississippi, United States. Initially, Superintendent James Murray Kenna established the college as Pike County Agricultural High School. Then in 1988, it became Southwest Mississippi Community College. The campus is situated on 60 acres of land. Students of SMCC are offered associate degrees in arts and applied science, vocational certificates, and several graduate level degrees.

SMCC encourages students to participate in various cultural and entertaining activities through the many clubs and organizations it sponsors. Some of the popular student organizations are the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Bear Trackers, Scholars Bowl, Campus Ministries, and Pine Burr.
