Overview

Southwestern Christian College, also known as SwCC, was established in 1948 by Bro. G.P. Bowser, an educator and minister. Initially, it was named the Southern Bible Institute, but in 1949, the institute purchased the property of the Texas Military College, and was then christened the Southwestern Christian College. Operated by the Churches of Christ, the campus of SWCC is located in Terrell, Texas.

Southwestern Christian College offers associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in arts and science. Students can choose from courses in the humanities, mathematics, Bible, English, foreign languages, natural science, and Christian ministry, among others.

The athletics department of Southwestern Christian College sponsors men’s and women’s teams in basketball and track. Known as the Rams and the Lady rams, the teams compete in the NJCAA Region V.
