Overview
Southwestern Christian University, also known SCU, is located in Bethany, Oklahoma. Established in 1946 by the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, the university was initially known as Southwestern Bible College and was renamed to SCU in 2001. The university grants bachelor’s and associate’s degrees, as well as offering diplomas in a range of study areas. The degree programs include biblical leadership, human and family services and business leadership. The university offers oversees study programs to students as well.
Southwestern Christian University is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association and the Interstate Collegiate Conference. SCU students participate in sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and cross country. The university houses several student organizations including the Robert Hough Missionary Society, the Student Senate and the Armor-Bearers.
