Overview

Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, SIPI, is a national Indian community college and land grant institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. SIPI opened its doors on September 16, 1971 and was granted community college status in 1993. SIPI offers Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, and Associate of Applied Science degrees and certificate programs to students.

The students of Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute have an opportunity to form their own clubs. The students participate in numerous activities such as special events, team building, leadership training, outdoor recreation events, and club sports.

SIPI offers financial aid such as Federal Supplemental Grants, New Mexico Student Incentive Grants, Federal Work Study, and New Mexico Work Study to deserving candidates. The library has a collection of roughly 30,000 titles, approximately 100 periodical titles, and numerous magazines and books for recreational reading.
