Overview

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is a regional university situated in Weatherford, Oklahoma. It was established as the Southwestern Normal School, in 1901. Southwestern Oklahoma State University also has a branch campus in Sayre, Oklahoma. It offers a wide selection of degrees and programs in varied areas of study. SWOSU is one of the 7 state regional universities in Oklahoma. It is comprised of the following academic units:

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Lone Star Conference for major sports.
