Overview
Southwestern Oregon Community College, also known as SOCC, is located in Coos Bay, Oregon, United States. It was established in 1959, and construction of the permanent campus started in 1963. It is the oldest community college in Oregon. SOCC’s campus spread across an area of more than 150 acres. The college recruits over 14,000 students annually. SOCC offers Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer, Associate of Applied Science degrees, Associate of Science degrees, and one-year certificates of completion to students.
SOCC has several on-campus clubs and organizations. Some of them are the Southwestern Theatre Club, Phi Beta Lambda-Business, Sophorsyne Society, and Native American Student Association.
The athletic and cultural events at SOCC attract more than 15,000 men, women, and children every year. The college has several sports teams including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball.
