Overview
Southwestern University, also known as SU, is a private, four-year, undergraduate, liberal arts College located in Georgetown, Texas, USA. SU was founded in 1840. SU is spread across an area of 700 acres. It operates several schools and colleges which provide majors, Pre-Professional, Independent Major and Paired Major degrees in a wide range of subjects. Philosophy, Physical Science, Physics and Sociology are some of the subjects taught here. SU was named the nation's 7th “Best Value” undergraduate institution by Princeton Review college guide(2005).
SU has an active campus life. There are several student clubs, organizations, scholastic and honorary societies operated by the university. Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa Sigma and Zeta Tau Alpha are some of the honorary societies operated by the students. The students also operate a radio station known as SU radio. Megaphone is the weekly newspaper operated by the students.
