St. Andrews Presbyterian College traces its roots to the Flora Macdonald College established in 1896, and the Presbyterian Junior College founded in 1928. These two institutions merged in 1958, and the new college was christened St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 1960. Popularly referred to as St. Andrews, the college has a 640-acre campus in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Over 5% of the student population are international candidates.

St. Andrews Presbyterian College grants the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees. Certificate courses are also offered in therapeutic horsemanship, organizational leadership, and equine business management. In addition, St. Andrews offers adult education programs through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies, and Sandhills Community College (known as St. Andrews @ Sandhills).

St. Andrews Presbyterian College is home to more than 30 student clubs and organizations including the Anime Club, the Christian Student Fellowship, the Craft Club, the Gay Straight Student Alliance, the Writers' Forum, and the Student Government Association.
