Overview

Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College is located in suburban St. Charles County, Missouri. Dr. Donald D. Shook was the first president of the college and its first classes were held in 1987, when just 400 students were enrolled here. The main campus is spread across an area of more than 230 acres.

There are various academic departments in SCC. These include the business administration department, criminal justice department, computer science department and the mathematics department. The scholarships offered by the college include the SCC Foundation Scholarships, Helen and Paul Schnare Scholarship, James F. Ronkoski Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship and the Florence Killian Memorial Scholarship.

Some of the student clubs and organizations of SCC are the Campus Crusade for Christ, Chess Club, Creative Writing Society, Human Services Student Organization, International Club, Phi Theta Kappa, SCC Roller Hockey Club, Social Science Society and the Student Nurse Organization.
