Overview

St. Lawrence University is located in Canton, New York, United States. It was established in the year 1856 by the leaders of the Universalist Church. St. Lawrence University is the oldest coeducational school in New York state.

As of 2008-2009, the university has an enrollment of more than 2,000 undergraduate and over 100 graduate students. St. Lawrence University spreads across an area of 1,000 acres and maintains several academic, residential, and other buildings. It grants Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Education degrees, as well as certificate of advanced studies in educational administration.

The university has over 100 student activities groups. Some of them are the Academic Honor Society, Alpha Delta Kappa (Sociology), Omicron Delta Epsilon (Economics honorary), and Phi Beta Kappa (Liberal Arts & Sciences honorary).

St. Lawrence University’s student body is diverse and consist of more than 4 percent international students as of the 2008-2009 record.
