Overview
Buffalo State College, also referred to as Buff State or BSC, was established in 1871 as the Buffalo Normal School. Prior to adopting its present name, the college was known as the Buffalo Normal and Training School. The college is administered by the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The college offers several scholarship programs for its students including the Presidential Scholarship, Mildred K. Vogelsang Scholarship, Caryl Brennan Forrest Scholarship, and many more. BSC is organized into a number of academic divisions including:

The sports teams of BSC are nicknamed the Bengals and compete in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division III. The men’s sports teams include cross country, ice hockey, baseball, football, track and field, socce, and swimming and diving. The women’s teams include ice hockey, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, softball, swimming and diving, and lacrosse.
