Tennessee Temple University at Chattanooga was established by Dr. Lee Roberson in 1946. Originally started as a two-year college, it soon expended to become a four-year college. Commonly abbreviated as TTU, the college mainly focuses on providing liberal arts education to its students.
TTU offers both undergraduate and graduate study programs in areas such as biology, history, mathematics, psychology, music, bible studies and business. The college also offers facilities for distance education. The college has the following academic divisions:

- Division of Education
- Temple Baptist Seminary
TTU sponsors basketball, volleyball, soccer and wrestling teams, which are nicknamed the Crusaders. The college also offers financial aid in the form of institutional scholarship programs for deserving students.
