Overview

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi was established in 1947 as the University of Corpus Christi. Later on, it was renamed to Texas A&I University at Corpus Christi and Corpus Christi State University. It became a public university in 1973. Presently, the university is part of the Texas A&M University System and is also referred to as Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, TAMU–CC, A&M-CC, or A&M-Corpus Christi. The university's campus is spread over 240 acres in Corpus Christi, Texas. TAMU-CC is organized into the following academic units:

  • College of Science and Technology

The Greek Community of TAMU–CC is active and promotes a positive image of Greek Life. These organizations are governed by the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and Panhellenic Council. Some of the fraternities and sororities of the university include Alpha Phi Sigma, Kappa Delta Pi, Beta Beta Beta, Psi Chi, Pi Alpha Alpha, Sigma Tau Delta, and Sigma Gamma Epsilon.
