Overview

Texas Christian University, also referred to as TCU, is a private, coeducational university located in Fort Worth, Texas. It was established as AddRan Male & Female College in 1873. The institution was re-christened as Texas Christian University in 1902.

Texas Christian University campus is home to a number of Greek letter fraternities and sororities including Kappa Sigma, Delta Tau Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, and Delta Gamma.

TCU's sports teams are called the TCU Horned Frogs. The official mascot of TCU is the Horned Frog. The University sponsors baseball, basketball, football, golf, swimming & diving, track & field, cross country, volleyball, soccer, rifle, equestrian, and tennis.

Notable alumni of TCU include James Cash, Jr., former Chairman of Harvard MBA program and Senior Associate Dean and Chairman of HBS Publishing from 1998 to 2003. Currently sits on boards of GE and Microsoft; Angela Stanford, professional golfer on the LPGA Tour; and Chris Klein, movie actor and star of the film Rollerball.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Mountain West Conference for major sports.
