Overview

Texas State Technical College at Sweetwater, West Texas belongs to the Texas State Technical College System (TSTC). Its headquarters are at Connally Air Force Base, Waco, Texas. The college system was originally founded as the James Connally Technical Institute in 1965 to meet Texas’ evolving workforce requirements. The Sweetwater campus opened its doors in 1979. At present, it offers a variety of programs through the following divisions:

exas State Technical College at Sweetwater developed the first community college wind energy program in 2007. It constructed a demonstration 2 MW 60Hz DeWind D8.2 prototype wind turbine for the purpose of student training. The College also offers distance learning options through various methods including online, web-enhanced, hybrid, or interactive video courses.
