Texas State University is a doctoral degree granting university located in San Marcos, Texas. It is the largest institution of the Texas State University System and was founded in 1899. The campus is spread across an area of 457 acres.

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Southland Conference for major sports.
