Texas State University is a doctoral degree granting university located in San Marcos, Texas. It is the largest institution of the Texas State University System and was founded in 1899. The campus is spread across an area of 457 acres.

Texas State University offers more than 100 bachelors, 80 masters and 5 doctoral degree programs through the following academic divisions:

Texas State has a very active Greek life, offering over 30 different fraternities and sororities. There are more than 260 student organizations at Texas State, including Professional, Recreational, Religious, Academic, Chartered, Greek, Honors, Multicultural, Political and Sports Clubs.

Housing and Meals

Texas State provides on-campus housing for 7,031 of its 24,854 (full-time) students (as of 2008-2009).

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 16 meals weekly.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Southland Conference for major sports.
