Texas Tech University

Texas Tech University is a co-educational, public research university located in Lubbock, Texas. It was established on February 10, 1923 as the Texas Technological College. In 1969, it was renamed Texas Tech University. Initially consisting of only four colleges, the university is now comprised of ten colleges and two schools:

Texas Tech provides on-campus housing for 6,763 of its 26,029 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.

Texas Tech Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. Texas Tech is in the Big Twelve Conference for major sports.
