Overview

The Boston Conservatory is a private conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts that was founded in 1867 by Julius Eichberg, a famous violinist and composer. The conservatory has graduate and undergraduate programs in theater, dance, music, and music education. It also offers the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Master of Music degrees. The institute is comprised of the following academic divisions:

  • The Dance Division
  • The Music Division
  • The Theater Division

The Boston Conservatory has numerous student-run organizations including the International Student Association (ISA), the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the Taiwan Student Association, Phi Mu Alpha, and Sigma Alpha Iota.

The Boston Conservatory offers the Conservatory Scholarships, the Returning Student Scholarships, and the Private Scholarships. Eligible students can also apply for Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, and Academic Competitive Grants to meet the cost of their education. The institute has the Albert Alphin Library equipped with a collection of orchestral scores, books, journals, electronic databases and sound recordings to support the curricula at the Conservatory.
