Overview
The National Hispanic University, NHU, is a non-profit, private university, in San Jose, California that was founded by Dr. B. Roberto Cruz in 1981 in Oakland, California. NHU moved to a new location in San Jose in 1994. It offers associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees in diverse areas of study. Academic degree programs are available in early childhood education, business administration, liberal studies, mathematics and science, and computer information systems. NHU also provides credential programs, certificate programs, and transfer programs to students.
The National Hispanic University has an active student life. Students at NHU participate in numerous on-campus activities and events. Numerous scholarship programs are offered to those who are eligible including The National Hispanic University General Scholarship, NHU Silicon Valley Scholarship, Campus Based Work Study, and Campus Based Work Study.
