The University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry is a member of the University of Connecticut Health Center complex. It was established in 1968 and since then, it has been a leader in dental education, patient care, research, and community outreach. The faculty team at School of Dental Medicine is composed of around ninety full-time clinicians, and several basic scientists. The University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry publishes more than 150 papers and book chapters, and presents over 120 abstracts of their work at national and international meetings, and congresses.
The University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry offers an active campus life. There are several student clubs and organizations in the campus. Some of the popular ones include Dental Student Research Society, Disabilities and Chronic Conditions Interest Group (DCCIG), and South Park Inn Dental Clinic.
