Overview

The University of Tennessee at Martin was originally established as Hall-Moody Institute in 1900. It became the University of Tennessee Junior College in 1927 and was renamed the University of Tennessee Martin Branch in 1951. The university adopted its current name in 1967 and is a part of the University of Tennessee system. The university is located on an area of more than 900 acres in Martin, Tennessee. UTM is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • College of Engineering and Natural Sciences
  • College of Humanities and Fine Arts

UTM has several Greek organizations, which are administered by the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inter-fraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council. Gamma Sigma Alpha, Gamma Beta Phi, Rho Lambda, Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Sigma Kappa, Sigma Chi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Gamma Kappa Pi, Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi and Phi Mu Alpha are the Greek organizations at UTM.
