Overview

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, also known as UVA Wise or Virginia-Wise or UVA at Wise, is a public, liberal arts college located in Wise, Virginia, United States. It was established in 1954 as Clinch Valley College of the University of Virginia. UVA Wise is one of the branches of the University of Virginia. The campus spreads across an area of 400 acres. UVA Wise offers over 30 majors, more than 25 minors, and over 20 teaching specialties.

UVA Wise has an active Greek life. The campus is home to several fraternities and sororities. The sports teams are nicknamed the Highland Cavaliers. They compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Appalachian Athletic Conference.
