Overview
Trevecca Nazarene University, TNU, was established in 1901. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the university was founded as the Literary and Bible Training School for Christian Workers by J. O. McClurkan. The school became Trevecca College in 1911, and Trevecca became Church of the Nazarene’s official college in 1917. In 1995, the name changed to Trevecca Nazarene University from Trevecca Nazarene College. The university offers graduate degrees in the fields of education, psychology, religion, business, and library science.
The sports teams of the university, known as the Trojans, compete in the TranSouth Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division I. The teams participate in volleyball, golf, soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball. The students are also active in clubs and organizations such as the International Students Association of Trevecca, the Communications Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Sigma Zeta Club.
