Overview

Tusculum College is located in Tusculum, Tennessee, United States. It was established in 1794. It is the oldest college in Tennessee. The college was named after the homestead of Dr. John Witherspoon, the then-president of Princeton University and a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. In fact, the college adopted its present name in 1844. The first female students were admitted to the college in 1878. Tusculum’s campus sits upon 140 acres. It also has satellite campuses located across East Tennessee and a regional center in Knoxville.

Tusculum College offers a number of student organizations including the Black United Students, Alpha Chi, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Lady Pioneer Dance Team, Science Club, Orange Crush, Students in Free Enterprise, Tusculum College Business Club, and many more.

Tusculum College is a member of the South Atlantic Conference and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. Their sports teams are known as the Pioneers. They participate in a wide variety of sports including men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, football, golf, and basketball.
