Overview
United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, established in 1960, was formed by the merger of the Mission House Seminary of Plymouth, Wisconsin, and the Yankton School of Theology, which was located in Yankton, South Dakota. This ecumenical graduate school is a part of the United Church of Christ. Located in New Brighton, Minnesota, itis also referred to as UTS. The institute, which grants degrees at the master's and doctorate levels, offers programs in divinity, religious leadership, and theological studies.
United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities provides financial assistance programs to qualified students, including need-based aid, Federal loans, and merit-based aid. A limited number of scholarships are also available.
The Bigelow Chapel, which was constructed in 2004 as an addition to the UTS campus, won the Institute Honor Awards for Architecture in 2006. The American Institute of Architects Minnesota granted the chapel the Honor Award in 2004.
