Overview
United Tribes Technical College, UTTC, is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is a tribal college that was founded by an association of native tribes of North Dakota in 1969 to provide high quality education to Native Americans of the region, and throughout the country. UTTC has served over 75 federally recognized Indian tribes. The college does not limit its intake of students to Native Americans, but is open to students from all backgrounds.
UTTC offers more than 20 programs leading to Associate of Science degrees and over 5 certifications. The programs are offered in areas which include art and art marketing, automotive technology, science and technology, business, criminal justice and healthcare. The college is a member of the National Junior College Association and sponsors athletic teams for cross country and basketball. The teams are known as the Thunderbirds.
