Overview
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton, also referred to as UACCM, is located in Arkansas, United States. It was founded by the Arkansas General Assembly in 1961 as Petit Jean Vo-Tech. The college began offering classes in 1963. Initially, the school only awarded diplomas in career-specific subjects. in 1991, the school was converted to a two-year, degree-granting college and renamed Petit Jean Technical College. The institute then began offering programs in a broader area including academic, technical, community, workforce, and adult education. In 1997, it was renamed Petit Jean College, and in 2001 it merged with the University of Arkansas and became the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton.
The university occupies an area of approximately 70 acres. It offers associate degrees in Arts, Science, and Applied Science. It also offers certification programs in Applied Science. The college supports several student organizations including Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Theta Kappa, Drama Club, and Intramural Council, among many others.
