Overview

University of California, Hastings College of the Law, also referred to as UC or Hastings, is located in the Civic Center of San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1878 by Serranus Clinton Hastings, the first Chief Justice of California, as the first law school of the University of California. US News currently ranked Hastings 38th among all top US law schools, 17th among public schools, and 7th among law schools in the western United States. Hastings offers undergraduate and graduate programs in several subjects which include civil litigation, criminal law, international law and public interest law. There are several other specialized programs such as the LL.M Program and International Exchange Program.

UC has an active student life. There are several clubs and organizations operating in the campus. Active Minds, American Constitution Society, Associated Students UC Hastings and Students for Our Own Graduation are some of the organizations operating in the campus.
