Overview
The University of Chicago, also known as the U of C, U Chicago, or simply Chicago, is a coeducational, private university located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. It was founded in 1891 by John D. Rockefeller, world famous billionaire oil-tycoon. The University's campus stretches over an area of more than 200 acres of urban land.

Notable alumni of the University include John Ashcroft, Attorney General of the United States from 2001 till 2005; Philip Kaufman, Hollywood director; and Robert V. Adams, Former Executive Vice President of Xerox Corporation. U.S. President Barack Obama was a faculty member of the Law School.
