Overview

The University of Denver, or DU, is the oldest, private university in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. It was founded in 1864. The university enrolls more than 10,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The main campus is a designated arboretum and is spread across an area of over 120 acres. The University of Denver is ranked 85th among all public and private "National Universities" by U.S. News & World Report in the 2008 rankings. DU is organized into the following academic divisions:
